Today’s Challenge: Wispmare
No specific references, but here are some suggestions to help inspire you:
- The Cutie Mark Crusaders
- The Apple Family
- The Wonderbolts/Shadowbolts
- The Flim Flam Brothers
- The Mane Six

Today’s Challenge: Jungle Shrine, based upon the Everfree Forest!
This challenge is more an attempt at landscape and architecture; there are no specific elements to the art as long as you attempt to keep the idea of Jungle Shrine and the Everfree Forest within the artwork. Some suggestions to help get you inspired:
- Zecora’s Shack
- Nightmare Moon’s Castle
- A shrine sinking into the swamps in the forest
- A “natural” shrine, with the Manticore or the Ursa Major within view
I’m not 100% sure what you mean by that so I will take a few guesses and would appreciate a bit of clarity.
If you are asking if we will accept artwork that fuses the designs of the character on the card and the FiM character that is associated with the challenge, than of course we do! The challenges are meant to inspire, not set rigid limits. You have creative freedom to make the characters look as similar to one side or the other as you wish, as long as it is clear you are trying to blend the characters (for example, Steven Magnet and Nicol Bolas.)
If you are asking if we accept custom designed cards that reference Friendship is Magic, or custom designed cards that fuse the ideas of the challenge card with the challenge character, then no. This isn’t for custom cards; it’s for artwork. Please only use things like Magic Set Editor if you are posting the artwork on the card frame for the original or something similar to that. :)
Lastly, if you are asking if we accept challenges from user submissions, then yes we do! If you have a particular card, plane, or story from M:tG you’d like to see people blend with FiM, feel free to submit it and if we feel it works we will post it!
I hope I answered your question correctly, and if not PLEASE send another ask to clarify so we can help you out. <3

Luna emulating Oona, Queen of the Fae by Adam Rex
The second challenge of FIMTG, from Yawg07/Struck By Fallen Objects. The challenge was to draw Luna as Oona, Queen of the Fae. This is the challenge that inspired the creation of FIMTG, and truly encapsulates what the goal is of this blog.
This is a legitimate masterpiece. I talked with Yawg as he worked on it and stared in awe at the WIPs he posted and sent to me. This is actually amazing.
